of marin county. james. >> thank you erica. >> san francisco police are investigating the death of a man who was found in an elevator shaft at the montgomery bart station. it happened last night around 930. police responded to a called a person stuck in an elevator at the bart station. authorities managed to get that man out when they discovered another body in the shaft. it is unclear how the man got into the elevator shaft or how long he had been there. police foubelieve he could have been sleeping on top of the elevator when he was closed. we will have a live report coming of the 430. >> a shooting has oakland police turning to the public for help. the parties are working on tracking down the suspect shot and killed a san francisco man early yesterday morning. kron fours scott rates walked us through what happened. >> i am told the shooting have been a block away from the oakland police department. at the intersection of ninth and clay. it started at around 3:00 in the morning when officers responded for a call of a shot fired. when they arrived they found the man that had been shot m

who shot and killed a san francisco man early this morning. kron 4's scott rates walks us through what happened. >> reporter: this call was about one block ago. at the oakland police department at this intersection at clay /ninth and ninth street. around 3:00 a.m.. shots were fired and this man was shot multiple times walking on this intersection. investigators believe that it was an occupant inside another car that shot at the driver of the other car. he was taken to the hospital where he died. hwe know that he is a 37 year-old man. we checked with the oakland police department and we are hoping for some type of witness that can come forward. we are offering a $10,002 reward. scott rates, kron 4. >> a big pay off for voters in san jose. tomorrow, the city's minimum wage will go up two dollars.that goes for both part-time and full-time employees. it also includes those working for tips. kron four's philippe djegal shows us how it all adds up. >> reporter: so, this is how it works. and, we'll use part-time workers as an example. someone now making eight dollars an hour, six hours a day,
.leading off san francisco's saint patrick's parade this morning. following behind.a contingent of the city's finest and wide variety of fire trucks. thousands lined market street for a parade that had more than one hundred and fifty different groups and floats, many reflecting the strong support this parade has always received from the cities uniformed services. san francisco the police department and the fire department, i mean there's a whole bunch of irish people.that's all there used to be on the police and fire department years ago in san francisco which is now very mixed just like the city is, which is great but they are still strong supporters and they have a ball, everyone has fun at this parade. thousands came out to see the parade, and as many as two thousand people marched in the parade this the 162nd san francisco st paddy's day parade. here in the bay area.police are reminding drivers to be safe and sober this saint extra c-h-p officers will be on patrol throughout the weekend. and there will be several d- u-i checkpoints. here are a few of them. in san rafael.the ch

and now the search is on for a gunmen in san francisco. police say, that two people were in the white car on the screen, when a suspect opened fired hitting the 30 year-old male passenger, in downtown san francisco near bryant street. the driver was not hit, and drove off looking for a hospital. the eventually the driver stopped at market and davis shutting down traffic the passenger was taken to the hospital would like spring injuries. the driver is being questioned about what exactly led to the shooting, the suspect is still on the loose. >> new this morning, san francisco police are searching for two suspects who robbed a house then fled across the bay bridge. authority say that two male suspects forced their way into a home in the 2100 block of 23rd street in san francisco's potrero hill neighborhood. robbers then pass what the victim, took an iphone and ipad then fled from the residents. police were able to track the suspect on the bay bridge before they lost sight of the vehicle. anyone with information on robbers is asked to contact the san francisco police to permit. >> time is up
midnight when daly city police followed a stolen vehicle into san francisco. that's when sfpd stepped in. 1 when they jumped out of the car they were surrounded, immediately. however, they continued to run from officers. when they caught up with them the suspect turned around and had a gun. for the safety of not only the officers but also for the surrounded officers. >> the driver of the vehicle died, the passenger is in custody tonight. identities of the two men have not yet been released. >> a mechanical problem on a plane leads to an emergency landing at san francisco international airport. officials say a united airlines flight was flying in from vancouver canada when problems started with the hydraulics. the plane carrying 107 passengers managed to land safely at the airport. the plane is now under inspection. >> a warm springlike day. 74 degrees in pleasanton, napa but some changes for this afternoon. we did see some high clouds over northern california some sprinkles for tonight. notice the green that is the light rain that is falling. most of this is the drawing that is what stormtr

. a teen home for spring break is shot to death in san francisco's mission district. his family is completely shaken tonight. kron 4's alecia reid has the latest on the victim that was just a few steps from his door when he was tragically gunned down. >> tragedy.especially happening in front of his gate. he had so much potential to excel. family members tell us 19 year old jacob val-di-viezo was a top scholar and athlete at raritan high before moving on to lewis and clark in oregon as an honor student on a football scholarship. in town for the week, he was walking home with a friend just after 3-am saturday morning when police say a gray sedan pulled up --- a hispanic man in his 30's hopped out, asked jacob if he was in a gang, but before giving him a chance to speak --- shot him. witnesses say the family rushed downstairs, only to find jacob lying on these stairs. his father held him until he was rushed to the hospital where he died. one after the other, people poured in to express their condolencesas they question how this could've happened to a guy with such a bright future.
